RESOURCES​ for EDUCATORS and PARENTS

PFLAG is "the nation's largest family and ally organization".  It is divided into over 400 chapters in the U.S., each providing local support for the LGBTIQ community.  The website offers a myriad of resources such as news, chapter information, advocacy, and a scholarship program.

LAMBDA LEGAL is the "oldest and largest national legal organization whose mission is to achieve full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work".

The website has many useful links about knowing your rights and a section focused on teens and schools.

ALA (American Library Association) has a great section on challanged materials and section policies that gives resources to deal with challanges that might arise from an LBGTIQ curriculum.  The GLBT Round Table committee has many booklists for additional reading materials.
